For the wine lovers, head to Queen City Photography on Byers Street on New Years Eve at 7pm. The Central Shenandoah Valley American Wine Society is hosting a New Year's Eve Party, complete with dancing and making new memories! There will be music, a photo booth, and of course- wine! Bring a snack to share and join your fellow wine enthusiasts in welcoming the new year. Tickets are $10, and you can grab yours here!
If you’re looking for late night, live music to ring in your new year, head to The Tempest Bar and Lounge. Rock and roll band 14 £bs is headlining a New Years Eve Bash, with The Milestones and The Norms joining to play the greatest hits. The festivities start at 9pm with doors opening at 8pm. If you consider yourself to be a beer expert, Redbeard Brewing's New Year's Eve Party is the place for you! Tickets are $60 and include unlimited pours of seven of their beers, as well as a taco and nacho bar provided by Chicano Boy Taco. They will also be having a complimentary midnight toast of their beer named Moriarty, an Imperial Stout aged six months in select Baker's Single Bourbon Barrels. There will be two bands, Drägön Wägön and The Hot Mamas, playing throughout the night. This will be an amazing event for all beer drinkers out there!
A fun New Year’s Eve Event for history buffs is Ghost of Staunton’s New Year Fest. This haunted history walking tour takes you through Staunton by lantern light. Take the tour to find out why Mary Baldwin, James Vames, and Jimmy Atkins helped shape Staunton since its inception in 1747, and why they chose to stay. The 90-minute tour starts at 7:00pm and meets at the corner of Johnson and New Streets (City Parking Garage, across from Mill Street Grill Restaurant). Tickets are $12 to $16 and can be purchased on this site.
For those wanting to end the year with a bang, drive down to the Wintergreen Resort for their multiple New Year Celebration events. The events start on Sunday, December 31st at 7pm with a family-friendly Glow Stick Scramble. Search around the Blue Ridge Terrace and Treehouse playground to see how many glow sticks you can find. From 9pm to midnight, there are two celebration options to choose from. First, for ages 21 and up, head to The Edge for live music, food, and drinks. Second is the New Years Eve Party with live music, food, and drink at Upper Crust, available for all ages! At 10pm, be sure to head outside and watch the fireworks from the Blue Ridge Terrace.
