About The Blackburn Inn and Conference Center

Constructed in 1828, The Blackburn Inn and Conference Center offers the perfect balance between classic Virginia and modern elegance. The tranquil, historic hotel is just moments from the excitement of downtown Staunton and the surrounding Shenandoah Valley. The property sits on a sprawling 80 acres of historical grounds and was designed by master architect, Thomas Blackburn. Characterized by its old- time charm, The Blackburn promises a distinct blend of timeless glamour, modern finishes, artful design, and superior hospitality.

The Blackburn Inn opened in 2018 as a historic 49-room boutique hotel.

Centrally located in the heart of Staunton, Virginia, The Blackburn is just blocks away from the American Shakespeare Center, Woodrow Wilson’s Presidential Library, and the city’s shopping and entertainment hub along with some of the best restaurants in the Shenandoah Valley. The Blackburn is less than 3 hours from Washington, D.C., and under 2 hours from Richmond, Virginia, making it a city person’s dream getaway in the mountains.

The Blackburn offers 49 beautifully designed guestrooms, including a Deluxe Queen, Deluxe Queen with Sleep Sofa, Deluxe Queen with Soaking Tub, and Cozy Queen. The rooms blend modern and historic expressions with elegant touches noted throughout the design, such as barn-style doors, original pine floors, oversized bathrooms, and intricate architectural features. All the rooms provide a wealth of well-appointed amenities that offer guests a comfortable and timeless experience while ensuring that they still enjoy access to modern conveniences.
